Privacy hedges are the most requested residential planting we see in Cape Coral, and the most commonly mis-sized. How far apart should hedge plants go?
It depends on the container size and how fast you want it to close. Smaller plants go closer together and larger ones further apart, so the run fills in as one line instead of a row of individuals. We set the spacing when we measure and state the count on the quote.
Clusia or podocarpus?
Clusia handles salt, wind and low water and grows into a thick informal screen. Podocarpus gives a tighter, more formal hedge and takes shearing well. Cocoplum and viburnum are the native and flowering options. We match the species to your exposure and how often you want to trim.
