Lighting is the last step of a landscape and the one most often skipped. A few well-placed uplights turn the palms and the entry into the view from the street after dark, and low-voltage LED fixtures do it on very little power. BCQ plans the layout around what is already planted, so lights and irrigation do not fight over the same bed.

An uplight at the base of a foxtail or royal throws the trunk and crown against the night sky; a pair on a cluster reads from the whole street. We start with what you already have planted, decide what deserves to be seen, and design the fixture count from there.
Low-voltage LED is the standard for a reason: it runs safely in irrigated beds, draws little power, and fixtures last for years. Systems run from a transformer on a timer or photocell, so the lights come on at dusk without anyone thinking about it. Wire is buried and routed clear of mower and edger lines, which is where most lighting failures come from.
Because BCQ also plants, mows and maintains irrigation, fixtures go where the plant will be at mature size, not where it is on planting day, and heads are adjusted so spray does not fog the lenses. After the first night we walk it with you and re-aim anything that needs it.

Is low-voltage lighting safe in a yard with irrigation?
Yes. Low-voltage LED systems are designed for wet landscape beds. We route and bury the wire clear of irrigation laterals and mower lines, and aim heads so spray does not fog the lenses.
How do the lights turn on and off?
A transformer with a timer or photocell runs the system, so the lights come on at dusk and off at a time you set. No switches to remember.
Can you add lighting to palms you are planting for me?
Yes, and it is the best time to do it. Fixtures are placed for the palm's mature size and the wire goes in while the bed is open. Palms and hedges come from our Palm & Plant Co nursery brand; lighting rides on the same proposal.
